Bad eating habits can affect more than just your weight. The things that make unhealthy food not healthy are processed in your body as if they were toxins. The toxins are filtered out by the liver and kidneys and passed into the colon for disposal. The more toxins you put into your body, the harder it is for those organs to do their jobs without becoming overworked. But there are ways to remove toxins naturally to keep your organs from being overloaded
An overworked liver can fail at completely filtering out all of the toxins, sending some of them back into the blood stream, where they can sink into the body’s tissue. A liver cleanse can be made with a few household ingredients: Epsom salt, extra virgin olive oil, fresh grapefruit juice and vitamin C powder Mix one-fourth cup of Epsom salt with two cups of water and set aside. Mix one-fourth cup of olive oil, one-half cup of juice and the powder together in a jar with a lid and refrigerate. For three days prior to drinking this liquid, drink plenty of apple juice (a great way to remove toxins naturally on its own). The morning of the cleansing, eat a small breakfast of fruit and oats. It will be the only time you eat that day. At about two in the afternoon, drink one fourth of the Epsom salt mixture Repeat this in exactly two hours. Take the jar of juice mixture to bed with you that night and drink it directly before you lay down. Use the restroom before you’ve gotten to this stage so that you can go to sleep and let the juice work its magic. Set your alarm for six in the morning and drink another dose of the Epsom salt mixture then. In another two hours, finish off the Epsom mixture. Wait two hours then have another light meal of fruit and oats. You can return to regular eating the next day but aim for healthy, natural foods that won’t stress out your newly cleansed liver
The colon is where the toxins that the liver does filter out head next. But here they can also get stuck, creating blockages. The salt-water mixture described above works wonders on the colon, as well. But another way to remove toxins naturally is to use an over the counter enema. Follow the package directions and use on a day when you can relax and allow the cleansing process to happen on its own pace
The kidneys can also get buildups but these obstructions- called kidney stones- have the potential to become incredibly painful since they can get as large as a golf ball. If you are prone to stones- or are wanting to prevent them- make sure your diet isn’t too high in salt or calcium (calcium is a common building material for these blockages). You need to drink plenty of “clean” fluids- water and fresh or natural juices Certain foods also promote kidney function Grapes and watermelon are great ways to remove toxins naturally (though not if you are diabetic).
